Len Blavatnik could win three Tony Awards next month—as a producer. And you thought all he wanted to do was direct…

The Warner Music Group chief is among the multitude of producers in four Broadway shows up for the top awards in three categories. Groundhog Day, which also boasts Tommy Mottola as one of its producers, is up for Best Musical and six other awards. Blavatnik is also a producer on Hello, Dolly!, which is contending for Best Revival of a Musical, as well as A Doll’s House, Part 2 and Lynn Nottage’s Sweat, which are up against one another for Best Play.

In the musical category, his competition includes Dear Evan Hansen, which lists Freddy DeMann among the producers. DeMann is among the executives profiled in our upcoming The History of the Music Biz, Part 2: The Mike Sigman Interviews. (Mottola appeared in the first edition).

The one category Blavatnik is not nominated in, Best Revival of a Play, does include a friendly face from the music world, John Legend. He’s a producer of August Wilson’s Jitney, which is up for six Tonys.

Broadway salutes its best on 6/11.
